New Psychiatric Hospital Given Green Light to Be Built in Kingsport
Tennessee's health agency has given a green light for building a new psychiatric hospital in Kingsport.
The hospital will be built by Strategic Behavioral Health, a Memphis-based company that provides psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment services.
The new 72-bed facility is expected to serve Sullivan and Hawkins Counties in Tennessee, as well as Wise, Scott and Lee counties in Virginia.
Company officials say it will have a tremendous impact on those struggling with limited treatment options.
The approved certificate of need had been pending since 2013.
