Knoxville Woman Arrested for Furnishing House Where Overdose Occurred

A Knoxville woman remained in jail Friday on charges stemming from a possible overdose death that occurred at her home in November, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

Caroline Addinall-Wall, 52, was arrested Thursday on charges of maintaining a dwelling for drug use and unlawful drug paraphernalia use and activities, and is being held in a Knox County jail on bonds of $10,000 and $500.

Authorities were called to Addinall-Wall's home at 7631 Chatham Circle on Nov. 11 for a report that a guest at the home had died of a possible overdose, according to a warrant by Knoxville Police Department Officer Philip Jinks.

Addinall-Wall was home at the time and allowed officers inside to conduct an investigation, where they found drug paraphernalia including digital scales, straws and syringes. A small amount of methamphetamine was also found in the room where the woman had died, according to Jinks.

There was also evidence of multiple people living in the house, and authorities spoke to at least three people who said they were frequent overnight guests or were staying at the house temporarily, while Addinall-Wall said she was the only permanent resident.

Since October there have been numerous police calls for loud parties, disturbances and suspicious activity at the house, Jinks said.

"Based on the totality of the circumstances, (authorities) believe the defendant is knowingly allowing her residence to be used by drug addicts to use and sell illegal narcotics," he wrote.

Addinall-Wall is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 9.
